This is a pretty little jug. The potter may be Andrew Stevenson. This pitcher is marked with a blue printed mark, with a crown over and oval that contains the words "semi china". There is ware to the rim.

Hand painted, possibly Alcock, this is a very ornate, classical footed jug. There is minor wear to the blue ground.

On the bottom is a black printed coat-of-arms with the pattern name, “Tonquin” underneath. Also contains the initials R & D, which Godden attributes to either Richard Dudson of Hanley (1838 – 1844) or Richard Daniel of Stoke (1841 – 1854).
